Grazing School w/ UVM and Consider Bardwell Farm

The University of Vermont is hosting its own ‘Grazing School’ with both Consider Bardwell and Wayward Goose Farms in West Pawlet, Vermont. Grazing consultant Sarah Flack will lead a pasture walk with farmers Peter and Dan Brooks and talk about the concepts of management-intensive multi-species grazing with both dairy cows and goats. Angela Miller, owner of Consider Bardwell Farm, and her team will give an overview of their business model with partnering farms to produce award-winning cheeses and other farm products. Research and development, quality control and distribution of their cheese will also be covered. Both farms are Certified Animal Welfare Approved and a short presentation will be given on the certification process. Lunch will be provided by the NOFA-VT mobile pizza oven.
