According to recent research, demand for grassfed beef has increased by 25-30 percent every year over the last decade. But while consumer demand for grassfed meat may be sky-rocketing, not all grassfed certifications are what they seem. Some may even permit practices like confining thousands of cattle on dirt feedlots for long periods outside the growing season and trucking in cut grass or forage as feed, or the use of growth hormones and routine antibiotics.
