Hercules Farm – Tenino, WA
Faith Hagenhofer and her family raise Certified Animal Welfare Approved by A Greener World (AGW) sheep at Hercules Farm in Tenino, Washington.
The Certified Animal Welfare Approved by AGW certification and food label lets consumers know these animals are raised outdoors on pasture or range in accordance with the highest animal welfare standards in the U.S. and Canada, using sustainable agriculture methods on an independent farm. Consumer Reports has rated Certified Animal Welfare Approved by AGW as the only “highly meaningful” label for farm animal welfare, outdoor access and sustainability—and the only animal welfare certification in which they have confidence.
“We have been raising registered Gotland and Gotland cross sheep since 2010. We process all our fleece into value added products which include: quilting batts, yarn, socks, and one of a kind art pieces,” says Faith. “It has afforded us the opportunity to “walk a talk” on sustainable fiber farming and natural resource stewardship as part of a responsible supply chain for textiles in our local community. Sharing and demonstrating this passion is essential to our values as a farm.”
Certified Animal Welfare Approved by AGW wool fiber products from Hercules Farm can be purchased direct from the farm and though their website. For more information visit herculesfarm.com and follow them on Facebook and Instagram.
